Looking for help setting parameters on a HY GT Series 5.5kW VFD driving a 1.5kW 220V 6A 24000rpm air-cooled spindle. I'd like to control the spindle speed from the pot knob on the keypad. I'm having 2 issues when while setting up:
1. With basic spindle parameters set, and pressing Run the spindle accelerates to about 7200rpm and frequency = 120hz (keypad reference frequency) , but turning POT knob has no effect.
2. Attempting to Auto-tune, the VFD accelerates to a constant frequency and after a minute or so, stops and shows EEP error.
My settings are:
P0.00 0
P0.01 0
P0.02 0
P0.03 400
P0.04 400
P0.05 120
P0.6 0
P0.07 0
P0.09 0
P0.10 0
P0.11 10
P0.12 10
P0.13 0
P0.14 6
P0.15 1
P0.16 0
P0.17 0
P1.00 0
P1.01 10
P1.02 0.0
P1.03 0.0
P1.04 0.0
P1.05 0
P1.06 0
P2.01 1.5
P2.02 400
P2.02 24000
P2.03 220
P2.04 6
Any ideas on what is wrong?

J1 Jumper Pins 1-2 for Pot control
Mactec54
Just set P0.06 to 400hz, but now it accelerates to 400hz immediately after run. It looks like the J1 1-2 Jumper was pre-installed. Below is how the J1 jumper was set initially (Left edge). I also tried removing the lower jumper, and removing both jumpers. But the POT still has no effect.
Each Jumper has a function so you can not remove them completely, they have to be on the correct Pin set for the different functions to work
I see just pins with no Jumpers on them they need to have the Jumpers on the correct Pins to work
Try the Up /Down Arrow keys for speed change

Also Try P0.02=3

I changed P0.02 to 3. The POT still doesn't work. However, the arrow buttons work fine. From here on, I can accept setting a "keypad reference frequency" P0.06 to a typical value and using the arrow buttons as needed. I appreciate all of your help so far.
Attaching picture of the J1 jumper set-up circled because they were hard to see/find. These jumpers are only accessible after removing the upper cover that has the keypad bay.
No P006=400 it should always be 400 is what the key pad then knows what your max speed can be, the Arrow up/down will then control /set what speed you chose to run at
Strange place to have the J1 Terminal it is normally next the the main logic terminals on the front of the VFD Drive no covers are removed normally to access them

I did notice a red led solid on inside the VFD just visible though the vents. I can't find any mention of it in the manual. Could this indicate a problem? Would it be related to the POT not functioning?
P0.07 = 7 Didn't work. The manual names this param "Frequency A command source". 7 is for remote communication. Just tried P0.07=1 (AI1) And it works! It appears the POT on this VFD sets voltage on Analog Input 1. I had tried this setting previously, but may have had other settings incorrect.
Currently, P0.02=3 P0.06=400 and P0.07=1 and the POT functions as expected. I really appreciate all the help!
...if, you have J1 Pin3 and 4 jumper AI1 is Active and P9.0 Group may need adjusted..... maybe mactec can explain how it affects anything.
Yes as I said it was to do with that Parameter P0.07 it was just a matter of trying each Parameter number to see which one worked, most that use this VFD Drive don't use the Pot so I don't no of anyone using it before for this GT series so now we know which Parameter number to use, why I said to try that number is because the Pot is considered remote

Make sure you set Parameters for overvoltage and over Amps they are normally a % Parameter setting this will help to protect your spindle with using that large Kw VFD Drive
