Default Wiring 240v german spindle to ameriacn welding plug.

I'm trying to wire up this german AMB FMU-DI spindle to my diy cnc router.
It came with a two-prong euro plug.
The manufactuer says it will run fine on 240v 60hz which is what I have in my shop for the welders.
So I bought a nema 6-50p plug to connect the spindle to the welder outlet.
I was tghinking I would just connect the two leads of the motor to the nema 6-50 plug, but now I am wondering if this will cause issues and am scared to ruin my new $750 spindle.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thanks,
    T

That might be a higher-amperage circuit than the tool is expecting, It will still work, but if it overheats you shouldn't expect the circuit breaker to save it. You might also want to run it off a relay box, so you can turn it on and off with software commands (M3/M5).

Could I run an inline blade fuse or something to protect it?

Check to see if there is a Ground wire in the cable unless the spindle is rated Double insulated then you need to add cable with a Ground wire

Other than checking for the Double insulated square you would be good to go and add a 2 fuses for your 240v single phase supply as your welder plug will have a much higher amp rating than what your spindle needs
