    Default High Speed VFD Required

    Hi - I'm looking for a VFD that will cope with 3333hz - It's to run a 200k rpm .5kw spindle.

    Any ideas on suitable models?

I would contact the spindle manufacturer for a recommendation. That sounds like a really special VFD.

Its basically a pcb drilling head, I was wondering about modifying a normal (cheap) VFD as it's only 500 Watts.

It'll be great for my engraving.. Lol

Manufacturer has closed shop so no details about it unfortunately.

I'll probably end up making an inverter VFD to run it.

Yes Delta is a good VFD Drive but it most likely you will find that it is made in China, most are even the top manufacturers so just with every good brand name, there are copies out there also so beware

You may find it a little difficult to find high frequency output VFDs. By US export law, most VFDs and motor drives are limited to 590Hz output frequency in order to prevent the proliferation of nuclear centrifuges. Most manufacturers follow this limit, while others can apply for exceptions. I do not know how non-US laws control this.

Btw, I've NEVER heard of a 3333Hz motor. That's insane.

The VFD with these specifications might need to be special designed and made.

The built in EMC filter does not eliminate the Input Power Filter Required

No this depends on the amperage required for your VFD Drive check the max output amps of the VFD Drive and double it that will be your Filter and Breaker requirement

Your spindle motor has to be 220v/240v you can not run it if it is 380v when you only have 240v supply check this spec first should be around 14A to 15A for the spindle at 220v so 30A should be fine, the VFD Drive is larger capacity which is good
so then we can go of the Spindle max current draw
