Anybody have any suggestions?
Hey guys apologies if this has been answered else where but have spent hours reading threads, posts etc but not really finding an answer specific to my issue. I have a zoncn vfd with .8kw spindle and have basically set it up the same as the huanyang vfd's. Problem is the vfd is reading max rpm as 13000 and I don't know if this is what the actual spindle is doing or not. I have changed max rpm setting and it does change max rpm reading but motor doesn't sound any different at max rpm, put my phone with sound app and the readings are the same at the different max rpm settings in the vfd. It certainly doesn't sound like 24000rpm, then again I have never had a spindle like this before but watching a few youtube videos seems to confirm my suspicions. I really don't want to have to fork out money for a tacho to test spindle so hoping theres a setting I may have wrong.

Do you have a link to the manual, it appears that unit is no longer avail?
Have you set the motor pole count correctly, also you can get a really good tach for $10-$15.

Hi Al, thanks for the reply. yes pole count is at 2. Here are the first 2 pages of settings, I assume this is the most relevant stuff but let me know if you need more.
Actually just found this and looks basically the same, its from the nl100

P212 and P215 look off, they are set for a 4pole motor

Have these at 3000 and 400
This is basically how I have set it up

Not having much luck. I have ordered a tacho but regardless of spindle rpm the vfd still appears to read 13000rpm maximum. I can change p212 to other values and I get a different max rpm but no audible difference from spindle. According to other posts I've read for similar vfd setups is 8v min voltage x 3000 max motor rpm = 24000 so not sure what is being calculated to get 13000rpm in my setup.
Can i suggest something?
Instead of displaying/reading the motor speed....rather for now display the output freq so you can see what is going on. I hardly ever look at motor rpm on a drive cause its anyway just a calculated value unless you have an encoder coupled. So start by looking at the actual speed reference value and output freq value
At full speed frequency is at 400hz but not sure how to do this -
"actual speed reference value"
You need to check what freq your drive is actually outputting. Freq ref is the value you "ask" the drive to output
P002 according to the manual you posted will show you the actual output freq...its a read only parameter
ok kind of losing me, if I am reading frequency as 400hz at full speed then this may not be correct?
What is P002 showing?
while its running? at start min = 120. at max 400
P001 is your set/ref freq...
When it's not running P002 should show 0Hz
VFD Drive Parameters are not compatible some things don't change and some can be used as a guide, but each manufacture have there own requirement's
Here is a basic list there are more that may need setting to get you going correctly, I will add more as I don't have time right now
P105=400
P106=100
P107=8 ( Adjustable )
P108=8 ( Adjustable )
P109=220
P110=400
P115=6 ( Max 8 )
P202=10
P209=220
P210= ?? ( Spindle Rated Amps )
P212=6000 ( or 24,000 if it will allow it )
P213=2
P215=400
