Also ordered a screened cable, which I'll replace with the existing spindle wires, as suggested by Johnboy251.
Sorry to hear about your trouble...sorting these issues can be a real challenge specially the lcd

I had the same problem with noise on Arduino and 500 watts Chinese spindle. My Arduino went into panic mode and more so at higher RPM
Here is a video it is in Spanish but i am in the process of finishing one in English, if you fast forward the 13:40 mark i got a clip of the filter network.
here is a link where the RC FILTER schematic. https://github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki/Wiring-Limit-Switches
I must say, that the filter made it better but from time to time I would get interference so i ended up installing FERRITE BEADS to every input of the Arduino (limit switches etc) also on the AC line, speed control wires and Spindle output wires. The spindle control (power supply) is mounted to the machine frame and the machine frame is grounded to EARTH ground (AC)
My 500 watts Chinese spindle is very quiet but i am experiencing a lot of chatter when cutting aluminium. I guest I have to come up with the right settings.

I have done some measurements on the spindle pwm supply.
measurements are done with a cheap multimeter.
Relay is the start / stop of the spindle.
The potm. is internal connected with the + voltage spindle

Most funny thing is the PWM, measured with a 20$ DSO.
Voltage on the screen has to be multiplied with 10x due to the probe.

the indicated PWM is 15% - 18.4% and 23% at 23% the spindle is running 10.000 rpm.

I think the wave form give a lot of interference.

Hi I am thinking of buying that 500W Chinese spindle also.
Aside from the noise problem, does it work?
    Bearings noisy/vibration? Sufficient power?
    Thanks.............dd

    @ddlawrence
I have not done any job with this spindle. With the potmeter, rpm adjustment is OK . A problem is the rpm adjustment with 0-10V (is not a big problem) . This is a spindle with carbon brushes, I have the idea that a BLDC spindle gives less interference problems and later no problems with carbon brushes.
The power you need, depends on the feed and speeds and the size of the mill. Looks like the Shapeoko 102-2 has one, just look at you tube. To use this spindle all your cables has to be shielded. This is a spindle for the low end machines and it works, it runs OK no vibrations not so noisy.

Hi... Why is one side of the speed control potentiometer connected to the ‘+’ (plus) side of the motor? Does this say this in the drive instructions?
This doe’s look right...500w chinese spindle interference

I have measured the volts. So between + 80V and the brown wire is measured 0 V and between the orange wire and +80V is measured 83.4 V

Ah, now I see your problem. The connection is not there, it is only drawn to show that the connection must be inside, due to the measurements. You do not have to make this connection. You are right it is not clear.
