    Default GDZ-80-2.2B weird noise on lower RPM

    Hello,
    Just got my first spindle GDZ-80-2.2B with HY02D223B VFD but I have a problem: the spindle makes high pitch squeaking noise that’s probably not normal. ?It starts ~2-3k RPM and is cut off ~10k RPM

    Tried reseting the config with PD013 = 8 and changed:
    PD005 = 400 max operating frequency (Hz)
    PD004 = 400 base frequency (Hz)
    PD003 = 400 main frequency (Hz)
    PD011 = 0 frequency lower limit (Hz)
    PD070 = 1 sets Analog in type 0-5v (I’m planning to use it with GRBL)
    PD072 = 400 higher analog frequency (Hz)
    PD073 = 0 lower analog frequency (Hz)
    PD143 = 2 number of poles in motor

    But it's still the same.

    Resistance between pins 1-2-3 is 1.71 ohm (measured from VFD side) and pin 4 seems to be connected as i'm getting continuity between it and spindle body.

    Cable is YSLCY-JZ 4g1,5 ~5m long

    Is the spindle faulty or I have to tweak some settings (which)?

    Thanks

    It sounds like bearing cage slipping, but also could be because you have Parameters set incorrect, What other Parameters did you set

    Your spindle has a minimum speed of 6,000 RPM if you don't set the minimum speed you will damage your spindle or VFD Drive 100Hz = 6,000RPM is the norm most use 120Hz so can not be set at ( 0 )

    How have you Grounded the shield ends this to can cause noise problems if not correctly terminated

    Thanks for your answers and sorry for the late reply, work-life interrupted hobby-life

    I adjusted the settings according to https://www.cnczone.com/forums/spind...ml#post2172276 and now i'm running between 7200-24000rpm.
    If i listen very carefully i can hear crunchy sounds time-to-time but it hasn't blown up yet. The seller thought that maybe the grease hasn't settled in yet from the transportation position .. we'll see.

    That is the correct speeds for those settings, if you want it to run at 6,000RPM you can set these ( 2 ) Parameters

    PD011=100

    PD073=100

    Yes that is a good Parameter set to use, yes it could be grease, if you can post a video of the spindle making the noise may be able to confirm if it is Grease or Bearing cages skidding which can be caused by grease also

    Do you have a good ground at the spindle and the shielded cable is terminated correctly, 4th pin in the spindle connector has to have continuity to the spindle body if it has not then this needs to be corrected

    Thanks for the tip!

    I'll try to make new video during weekend. My garage is quite cold (near freezing) so I guess the grease might be thick and is not spread equally yet.

    Pin 4 has continuity to body and I have grounded it.

    Thanks again

    If it is real cold like that, let it run for a while at the lowest speed to let it warm up then slowly take it up a 1000 at a time
