Default 2.2kW Chinese Spindle with vector-control-VFD (Huanyang GT series 2.2kW drive)

Can the Huanyang GT series drives be used with a chinese high speed spindle (https://www.amazon.com/Huanyang-Spin...70_&dpSrc=srch) to get good performance at low speeds (500-1500 RPM) and can this be used to mill steel on a rigid machine? Thanks.

In the link you posted they state the spindle speed as 8,000 to 24,000 RPM this is the minimum and Max speed that will have any useful torque you can do cutting with

The answer is No to both questions, the normal minimum speed for these spindles is 6,000RPM there are some that are better quality that can go down to 3,000 RPM, can you mill steel sure anything can mill steel even a Dremal hand tool, if you want to mill steel though, then you need to have the right spindle for the job 4 pole and lower speed that have a different Bearing arrangement than what these high-speed spindles have and are designed to mill steel

Ok. I found an different spindle rated down to 10rpm (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071HYXK9X..._t1_B077BTW4NQ). Could you say whether the this spindle is compatible with the drive mentioned above?

They mean 10,000 rpm, not 10.

That VFD should run any spindle 2.2Kw or less.

I don't think any of these chinese spindles made for routers will last long if you want to mill steel.

It is the same spindle different seller

As I said in the first Post they don't and won't run below 6,000 RPM any of the high speed spindles have no usable torque below this number there are some that are rated for 3000 RPM but I doubt that they have very much torque at that speed to cut anything with

The VFD will run any motor you connect to it, that is within the spec's of the VFD Drive

Ok. I think I found a spindle that will meet metal cutting and low rpms. Do you think this spindle will work?: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...234360f3uHrIRs
I assume that it will work well with the Huanyang GT series drives for low speed high torque performance?

That spindle is no different than the others, just a little more power.
It's still limited to 6,000-8,000 rpm.

No 24,000 RPM spindle will work well for what you want to use it for.

Whatr you want for milling steel is a spindle like this, powered by a separate motor.

Ok. Thanks! I'm not looking to do heavy duty milling: just light cuts. Do you think the Huanyang GT series drives, which do have vector control, will allow for lower rpm usage in these high speed spindles as these drives are supposed to provide high torque down to very low RPMs.

No, as Mactec said in his first reply.
You can't make a spindle into something it's not. These are all high speed spindles, with little to no torque at low speeds. Nothing can change that.

When they say metal cutting, they are only talking about engraving not machining metal with endmills most will do aluminum with varying results at 7500 .8000 RPM is around the slowest for cutting aluminum, you need to find a 4 Pole 12,000 RPM spindle which some of the manufactures make

Yes a vector drive can do that the problem being these spindles can't run the speed that you want to cut steel at, they are not designed to be run below the recommended speeds or not by much any way even if you have a vector drive it's not going to help you very much

Something like this is what may work for you https://czhanqi.en.made-in-china.com...5-9Z-3-0-.html 1200 RPM to 9,000 RPM
