    Hi, Anyone. I'm a new member who decided to have cnc for myself. Since i have installed 2.2kw water cooler spindle setup with Mach3. I can only turn on and off via program. After i have put M3 on MDI, the spindle has gone to top speed, 400hz and no matter I have try to type any S command. The spindle hasn't change according to command. here is my spindle specificationCnc spindleSize: 80mmPower: 2.2KWVoltage: 220VFreq: 0-400HzSpeed: 0-24000rpmCurent : 8.5A4pcs bearingHaunyang VFD Inverter Type: 2.2kw/220vInput: 220VAC/50HzOutput: 0-220VACFreq: 0-400HzVFD settingpd001=1 pd002=1 pd003=400 pd004=400 pd005=400 pd007=20 pd008=220 pd009=15 pd010=8 pd011=120 pd013=0 pd014=12 pd015=12 pd044=1 pd072=400 pd073=120 pd141=220 pd142=8.5 pd143=2 pd144=3000 I have using Mach3 via 5 axis breakout board and i have attached picture of my Mach3 config setting and VFD wiring as well. I would do appreciated for anyone who spent time to guide me. If there is anything i made it wrong. Please advice me. Thank you.Newbie.

    Have you set the Jumper

    PD002=0 ( 1 For 0-10v Terminal Control or Remote Trim Pot Control ) ( J1 Also Needs to be set for Terminal Control )

    Have you checked that you have 0-10v output from your Breakout Board that changes, when you do a M3 S6000 or a M3 S12000

    One problem I see is your spindle is not 0-24,000RPM, it is 6,000 to 24,000RPM

    Your parameters, don't match your Pulley Ratio 1 is correct, so if you want the minimum RPM =6,000 then you need to change these Parameters

    PD011=100 this is spindle minimum speed 6,000 RPM, a 120 setting will give you a higher minimum RPM which is a safer setting for these Spindles

    PD73=100

    So what ever you use for this setting,100 or 120 this minimum speed setting will be your pulley setting RPM in Mach3

    I have make sure that the jumper the on Pin1-2 (J1) and set Pulley selection in Mach3, Min speed: 6000.

    I have set PD002=0, but the spindle is not response. So, the set it back = 1. The spindle is response via M3 S6000 command
    Then, i have check 0-10V from the breakout board via M3 S command without connecting VFD. Here, what i got.
    M3 S6000 = 10.03V
    M3 S7000 = 8.27V
    M3 S8000 = 6.55V
    M3 S9000 = 4.89V
    M3 S10000 = 3.25V
    M3 S11000 = 1.68V
    M3 S12000 = 0.13V

    I put the VFD back and test command again,

    M3 S6000 = 9.73V, 23370-23406rpm on VFD
    M3 S7000 = 7.66V, 19451-19640rpm on VFD
    M3 S8000 = 6.33V, 17034-17268rpm on VFD
    M3 S9000 = 4.67V, 14028-14262rpm on VFD
    M3 S10000 = 3.15V, 11259-11454rpm on VFD
    M3 S11000 = 1.60V, 8592-8718rpm on VFD
    M3 S12000 = 0.20V, 6270-6288rpm on VFD

    VFD Setting
    PD001 = 1
    PD002 = 1
    PD003 = 50
    PD004 = 400
    PD005 = 400
    PD007 = 0.50
    PD008 = 220
    PD009 = 15
    PD010 = 8
    PD011 = 100
    PD013 = 0
    PD014 = 8
    PD015 = 8
    PD044 = 1
    PD072 = 400
    PD073 = 100
    PD141 = 220
    PD142 = 8.5
    PD143 = 2
    PD144 = 3000

    why the spindle speed has changed backward according to M3 S command. Also, the rpm is not stable as well, Would it be normal? If not,
    , anyone please correct what i have done wrong. Thank you.

    There is some problem with the PWM output, some others have had this problem with some of these breakout boards, your Parameters are correct

    I will purchase another breakout board. Do you have any advice which model for replacement?
    Thank you Mactec54.

    Thank you Mactec54.
    Something you could try before you get another Board, in ports and pins you could play with the active low out puts to see if that will reverse the output voltage, also check the output wiring to see that it is connected to the correct terminals

    That just worked for mine. I think we have the same specs.
    I am now tweeking my spindle motor settings because when I send S5000 it gives me 10000 rpm but when I send S20000 it does give me almost that.
    Will see if I am able to do by my own (quite newbie) or I find more useful info in the forums.

    Thanks by the way!!
