Jase....i am glad you got that sorted. Yes you should be able to change the display to indicate hertz....

If I press the Hand on button the supply doesn't run until I turn the pot. It then goes from 0hz to 400hz. A Brilliant start.

Is it possible to replace it showing hz to rpm?

I have wired my mach3 breakout board to terminals 18 and 20 of P.S. and this turns the spindle on and off from mach3. However it appears to have it running at maximum rpm and as the power supply has to be in auto start mode the knob doesn't work. The software up and down buttons don't change the spindles speed.

Obviously doing something wrong here. Any ideas? Is it possible for Mach3 to tell the spindle what speed to run at and/or be able to vary the spindle speed from mach3?

    And hopefully last.....
I bought an external box with an emergency stop button and rpm pot on it.
I've tried wiring it to the P.S. but they don't appear to work. Once again Danfoss provided some instructions but they didn't work so if you can help me I'm ready to try your ideas.

    Thanks Jase

I would prefer rpm rather than the default Hz.

To control the speed you need to have a ( PWM signal ) output a 0-10v from your Breakout Board to the VFD

The right side of the display shows the unit of the selected parameter. This can be either Hz, A, V, kW, HP, %, s or RPM

You can change this to what ever you want it to be

Because you have a quality VFD Drive you can use the minimum that your spindle can run at=100

    3-02=100

    3-03=400

    4-12=100

    4-14-400

Mac thanks for the reply. Do you know which terminals that would be connected for the 0-10v?

I can't seem to find a place to change the output to rpm. I'll study the manual again.

This is my power terminals. I believe the two green lined are the 0-10v on the bob. Which ones on the power supply should I connect them to?

Brilliant I'll try that. Do I need to set anything up in mach3 for this?

Can anyone put me out of my misery?

Tried all morning and can't solve it....
On the old Chinese inverter I could set the speed with the pot then run the gcode and it would cut at that speed. Every time I do the same thing it runs at the spindles maximum.

I'm pressing the Hand and rotating the pot to the required speed. Then press auto on. Then run the gcode but it spins up to 24k.

    Any ideas?

Tried wiring the Bob to the inverter today but as I never built the cnc machine I'm lost when it comes to the configuration in mach3. I can get it to turn the spindle on and off but if I run gcode it runs at 24k rpm and can't alter it. How do I workout the pins etc for the spindle motor?

Here is a setup that was done for a lathe, this will show you what settings you need to do in Mach3 yours will use different numbers to this and you won't have the spindle feed back

There are a lot of you tube videos also, and information on the Mach forum Machsupport Forum - Index

Mac been trying to get this drive to allow spindle speed to function from both an external box pot and from mach3 without success. I keep reading the manual to see if like my old drive there is a setting where you tell it to take commands from an external source but cannot locate it. Can you help?

It came though. I'll start reading. Quick question. What do the numbers in the pin box refer to so I know what numbers I need.

I think my issue may be with my Bob. I wired it like this. The left hand side Estop is p10 and gnd but when the connection is made nothing happens. I wired the right hand side as you advised but nothing functions. I found this manual and copied the pins (my setup didn't come with one) so pwm is on p1. However nothing happens. The relay on off to the spindle does work but runs at max.

Am I doing something wrong here or could the Bob be faulty?
    Thanks.

You have to set the correct pins in Mach to match the breakout board for the 0-10v output

In motor Tuning have you set the spindle settings
