    Default E.OC.A on Huanyang VFD 2.2 Kw

    I have a Huanyang VFD 2.2 Kw and matching water cooledspindle on my CNC. With or without the spindle connected, I receive theE.OC.A error code after pressing the RUN button. I've attached a pictureof the wiring. 220V is on the left and the leads to the spindle are onthe right. The ground for both is shared on the far right terminal. I have also listed the settings. Thank you in advance for your help!

    You have some Parameters not set correct for this Spindle, But this may not be what caused the problem, unless you have tried different Parameter setting before you got to this list, the correct Parameters are below, this may not fix your problem though as you may have a damaged VFD

    Huanyang Mactec54

    PD000=0 for Parameter unlock ( 1 ) for Parameter Lock

    PD001=0 (1 For Remote Control)

    PD002=0 ( 1 For 0-10v Terminal Control or Remote Trim Pot Control ) ( J1 Also Needs to be set for Terminal Control )

    PD003=400

    PD004=400

    PD005=400

    PD007=20

    PD008=220 (Motor Rated Voltage )

    PD009=15

    PD010=8

    PD011=120 ( 100 Minimum Setting with Quality VFD, 120 is Safe)

    PD13= 08 is for Factory reset, Only use this to set VFD to Factory Default Settings

    PD014 Acceleration=12 ( Adjust to suit)

    PD015 Deceleration=12 (Adjust to suit)

    ( PD15 is ignored IF PD26=1 Then the Spindle will Coast to a Stop)

    PD141=220 ( Motor Rated Voltage )

    PD142= 9 ( Motor Amp Rating 2.2Kw Spindle 9 amp )

    PD143=2 ( Motor Number of Poles)

    PD144=3000 (Max Motor RPM) =3,000= (24,000)

    PD70=0 ( This may need to be set to 1 if Control Voltage is 0-5v )

    PD72=400

    PD73=120 ( 100 Minimum Setting )

    Thank you. I did modify the settings and I still have the error. This is a brand new VFD so I am surprised but will replace it I guess. Thanks!

    Did you run it at all, or did it Fault as soon as you powered it up

    This is most likely a faulty Current Sensor

    If you had the Parameters set in your list, and it did this on the first startup I would contact the seller for a replacement

    No it did not run at all i.e. I received the error the first time I pushed the button. I have contacted the seller. Thanks!

    So it has a faulty Current Sensor then, there has been some others with this same problem, it's not hard to fix if they can supply this part, but go for a new one

    I have:

    OneFinity CNC. with the
    Huanyang 2.2kw water-cooled spindle VFD combo.

    I've connected the spindle to the VFD and am able to control it and spin it up via the VFD panel. I connected the remote control wire on the VFD RS+ and RS- to the appropriate connections on the breakout box. (13 and 14). I am getting an "ok" in the connection status.

    However, once I connected the breakout box to the onefinity controller and all settings below are set in the VFD it simply doesn't spin up. As soon as I send M3 S4000- it immediately throws the "E.AC.0" error on the VFD. I've no clue why and what the next steps would be, Again the spindle spun up nicely from the VFD control panel until I connected it to the controller.

    Any thoughts?

    Does the OneFinity except Modbus to control the VFD Drive, this VFD Drive normally needs a plugin to use Modbus control

    I believe. Within the CNC controller, I do have to set the modulus to 1 as I have 1 spindle defined. If that is not your question apologies.

    It would need a lot more than that to use Modbus, do you have a PDF manual for the control, that you can post, the control may well be able to control a VFD Drive with Modbus, the VFD Drive you have will not normally work without using the HY Modbus plugin and that may not work for your control without modifying the Plugin

    Is there a relay output from the control and a PWM to analog 0-10v this is what is normal for the control of this VFD Drive?

    Modbus is an option if it can be configured.

    Yes. It is here:

    Many people use this configuration.. Not sure what I am missing.

    I started over from a different tutorial and it is working now. I can enter M# s12000 from the controller and the spindle spins superbly.

    Thanks!!!!

    Yes, it appears to be already set up for the HY VFD Drive, just a matter checking the right boxes, I think this is a first for any controllers to do this which makes it easy for the user.

    Do you have a link to the tutorial that you used? I am about to receive my and would like a good starting place for the configuration.

    For future reference, I get that error on an HY vfd when there's a short circuit or a wire pulled loose in the spindle.

    I had the issue at the beginning before I learned to secure the vfd cable properly. It would get pulled causing the U, V and W wires to touch each other or get pulled out.

    Even a small bit of loose copper wire or solder can cause it.

    I think the post you are referring to was from 2017

    Correct though this can be a short from a bad wiring connection or over amps ramping up to speed.
