Great! Thank you very much.
One last question, if you don't mind. just what should the rating for the braking resister be? I'm not sure I'll add one, but there have been times that I've wished I could get the spindle slowed quicker.

Here is the parameters that you need for the 2.2Kw spindle, all others will be at default, unless you have some special need for other Parameter changes
Huanyang Mactec54
PD000=0 for Parameter unlock ( 1 ) for Parameter Lock
PD001=0 (1 For Remote Control)
PD002=0
PD003=400
PD004=400
PD005=400
PD007=20
PD008=220
PD009=15
PD010=8
PD011=120 (Minimum Setting 120)
PD13= 08 is for Factory reset, Only use this to set VFD to Factory Default Settings
PD014 Accel=12 ( Adjust to suit)
PD015 Deccl=12 (Adjust to suit) ( PD15 is ignored IF PD26=1 Then the Spindle will Coast to a Stop)
PD141=220 ( Motor Rated Voltage )
PD142=9 ( Motor Max Amps) (Set for your motor Amp Rating 2.2Kw Spindle 9 amp Max)
(Set for your motor Amp Rating 1.5Kw Spindle 7 amp Max)
PD143=2 ( Motor Number of Poles)
PD144=3000 (Max Motor RPM) =3,000= (24,000)
For Remote Pot use
PD002=1
PD70=0
PD72=400

This can be a tough one as some of these VFD's don't support a Braking Resistor,( Just some electronic parts missing ) I have never used one on these Huanyang Drives, some have though with good success, most VFD manufacturers have them already sized for each VFD size,these are for a normal 50/60Hz AC motor, yours is not a normal AC motor, and with not all the spec's available for your spindle, it can be hard to calculate for the correct size, so most that are using them are kind of guessing, I have attached a PDF that give information on how to calculate the Resistor size, but you may not have enough spindle motor spec's, to get it totally correct, I will see what else I can find as this comes up from time to time

Just an update (said I would).
My 4 HP, Huanyang VFD I bought is still working after 6 years now.
Maybe I am just lucky.

You sized your VFD bigger than the spindle motor requirements, this is always the best idea to help with getting a long life from these drives or for any VFD Drive that is using single phase supply, having the Parameters set correct and wiring correct you have a long life as a result, most of these VFD Drives only fail from incorrect sizing of the VFD Drive bad wiring and Parameter setting
I have more than 15 years on some of my VFD Drives that run everyday
