Default Searching for - 110 Volt - High frequency vfd

    Hello,

Can anyone recommend a 110V high frequency vfd? Looking for a VFD to run a chinese spindle 0.095kw 333hz -> 1000hz.
So far I can only source 220v.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

What type of motor, is this a 3phase induction motor? If so it is pretty rare?
What do you mean by H.F.?

Here are the specs on the motor
    Spindle type: GDZ-11
    Speed: 60000rpm
    Power: 100W
    Voltage: 36v
    Current: 0.6-1.5A
    Frequecy: 160-1000hz
    Cool: Self-cooling

You omitted the 36vac in the OP.
Not sure where you are going to get that, apart from maybe the maker of the spindle?

Can be done, change the power input circuit to voltage doubler , any vfd output 1000Hz can be regulated to 36v.

a 240v vfd will be switching the igbts at 340 volts, so to get 36 volts on the output you'd be looking at a peak of perhaps 15% duty cycle

use a transformer instead, three single phase transformers will work fine, you don't need a three phase tx.

Another option is to remove the IGBT block from the VFD and power the igbt block from a 48 volt power supply.

You will need to power the 240vac VFD from 340 volts dc, but it doesn't care how it gets that power. you can use a voltage doubler to get that from the regular 110 volt line.

with the igbt block now supplied from an arbitrary low voltage, you have to lie to the VFD to tell it to output a completely different volts per hz, according to the difference in voltage between the low voltage dc supply and the nominal 340v it normally gets.

you can also replace the IGBT block with low voltage mosfets, but in this particular application it probably doesn't matter due to the low currents involved.

btw, i have done what i just suggested with a mitsubishi freqrol a024, i replaced the igbt block with some 100 volt, 80 amp mosfets. switching speeds were rather slow because they used 100 ohm gate resistors, but it worked well enough to prove a point i made on another forum.
