Default Spindle Control with PWM - How to?

I'll be getting a DAC for the speed control but how do you tell it rotation direction? I want to be able to run the spindle entirely with Gcode and while you don't need direction often, I figure there has to be a way but the outputs on the DAC are just 0-10V.

Depends on what your application is looking for, if +-10vdc then 0-10 will not do it without some kind of modification.
For eg a VFD usually has 0-10v but has input for FWD/REV so this is taken care of in this way, a servo drive generally requires +-10vdc.
