Default Weldment Profile file location Help

Hi all, First posting for ages.
My company closed last year, we had Solidworks 2015, 2 seats with a server. Weldment profiles were originally on that server (S drive).
I am now trying to use my station without the server.(The server unit was stolen while in storage)
All works fine Except the weldment bit. Tried to re-allocate the file location several times, with fresh files from SW. But when I try to add a structural member SW crashes as it is looking for the S drive.
I've been through all the help things and google stuff with no improvement. Reseller support stopped when we closed the company.
Guess this is a registry issue, which is scary,
    Any ideas ?

did you look at file locations under system options to make sure the correct path is set?
should be by default: Drive letter:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english\weldment profiles

Yes did all that mcode, and several times over. Been through all the file locations in the system options and there are no references outside my local c drive.
However, when I open an existing weldment the profile is listed as being on the old s drive,.If I try and change the section the system crashes as it cannot find the file.
If I make a new part/wement and select a structural member the system again tries to find the s drive and crashes.
I'ts really weird as everything else in SW is fine making me think this is something deep in the registry.
I am only using the standard profiles, The original server (s drive) got stolen and is probably on a market stall somewhere !

One thing I would try is hook up an external USB drive
Then go into administration tools under controll panel, then
Computer management, then manage hard drives and change
The drive letter to S, then copy the data folder from your C drive
To the external drive include all the folder paths, maybe it won't
Crash and let you modify the files to look in your C drive then save
    The file.

    Hope that works for you

    Thanks mcode,
Seemed an elegant solution, but so far no success.
After struggling to find the drive manager in Win 8.1, I re-assigned the drive letter S to a newly formatted flashdrive, carefully loaded the data on to it.
No change in SW behavior. I am checking the file paths as time allows, but I am getting dubious.
Something somewhere is directing SW to a now absent drive, what puzzles me is that the error message "contains an invalid path" is such a dead end with no indication about what to do about it.

on your external drive you'll need to create the folders needed to complete the paths, try creating the Program Files folder on S then copy the SOLIDWORKS Corp folder from C to that folder.
if that doesn't work you can run regedit to check the registry for the paths.
here is the location in the registry where the paths are stored: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\Solidworks 2017\ExtReferences.
you should be able to see any references to the S drive and change them for C drive.

also can you open the files on another computer to see if it crashes too.
maybe you can run solidworksRx and monitor what's going on.
