Default Ethernet Smoothstepper to G201X Geckodrive

So ordering parts for my project I hit a little snag. I have a computer with windows 10 already. I already have 1800oz motors and my G201X gecko drives. I inquired about a ESS and the sales person said I would probably need a break out board between the ESS and gecko drive, but they would send my email to tech support and they could tell me for sure. Sent another email a few days later saying I still need to know if I can use their device or not. Well its been silent so far and I already have my parts and would like to start playing with things. So from what I understand a breakout board just takes that ribbon cables and routes the pins to screw terminals. I don't see why with a diagrams I couldn't just cut the ribbon cable and land the wires directly right or is there a break out board that makes this all stupid simple?

Good breakout boards add a lot of additional features.
#1 is isolation, which can prevent damage to the ESS.
They can add relays, speed control, and other features.

At a minimum, I'd use one or two of the $10 5 axis boards from Ebay. If you want a really good breakout board, get an MB2 from CNC Room.

Thanks, I like how the PMDX-134 cleans up the drives. so if I get a PMDX-134 and a lph26 cable I should be able to make something move I believe.
