AT-300
Hi ya'll
I am new here.
I have an AT-300, its an older machine. I am interested in converting it over to cnc, to help run simpler parts at work. The work the machine is doing right now is mostly threading and turning wooden taper plugs. I have heard a few things about ELS and that may work. Where can i find info or parts to complete this project.
Although it would be cool if it could make more complex parts.
Thanks,
Tyler

AT-300 CNC CONVERSION
Here are some pictures of my AT300 CNC conversion.
I Used 3x 282oz in steppers which seem powerfull enough however I think 2:1 ratio is the the best for all gears.
This mill has 2 weak points.
1. The brass Y-Axis nut on the treaded shaft is prone to wear.
2. Back lash on the Y-Axis shaft bearing.
Future plans will be to improve this some how.
The Modifications I made didn't damage/alter the Lathe so I can remove the motors later if I decide to sell it.
