The only possibility that I see is that you maybe position with g01 before the thread cycle.
So G01 x 40 z5 F2 or so...
Does it jerk before the thread cycle or in rapid traverse in general?

Hello dear community!
We have a problem with the thread turning L97. I hope that somebody can help me out..
It’s about an internal thread- the machine positions the tool too suddenly- I don’t think it will lasts long this way as we have to produce about 2000 parts a month- so we are looking for a “machine friendly solution”. We have a Siemens 840C controller.
Is there a possibility to reduce the rapid traverse before the cycle?
Our cycle looks like this: R20=2 R21=36 R22=-30 R23=0 R24=1.2 R25=0.05 R26=1 R27=3 R28=7 R29=0 R31=36 R32=5 L97 P1

It jerks in the middle of the cycle, when it runs free and pre-positions again.
I have played around with different turning speeds, without success. Even with 800U/min I have the same problem. The material is aluminium- it worked perfectly with external threads also with 1500U/min

Are you processing with or without thread undercut?
But first of all a general question: what machine are we talking about?
As far as I know, with Montforts you have an M command that defines how the machine drives out of the gear
