    Default Gantry drive

Getting rady to start build on a 5 x 10 foot plasma tabe.
What is the best gantry drive set up 1 bigger motor driving a cross shaft to drive from both ends to prevent racking?
Or the more comon 2 motor, one on each end?
Am I missing something ,the single motor setup seems more simple, less prone to problems, but I have never built a table before.
Any and all input will be a help
    Thanks Mike

Hello farmer. I am not any kind of expert, but most folks who are buying packaged control setups are going for the 4-axis package. This gives you a second motor on the gantry to be slaved together with the first. Using a shaft would require a lot of torque to move quickly, and would actually be harder to dial in. Have you looked at some of the kits, and electronics packages? I'm using WWW.candcnc.com on my build. The weight of your gantry makes a differance also.....good luck.............jb
