Hello, I've converted my Shop-Task Shopmaster Eldorado hobby mill/lathe combo machine to DC treadmill motors. I'm using Reliance DC2 motor controllers. One for the mill spindle, and one for the Lathe. The motor controllers work well, but I'm wanting a better speed control because under load they don't compensate to maintain set speed.
I believe Mach3 has the ability to turn them on and off, and control the speed with a PWM circuit 0-10v? I have obtained a break out board that has the 0-10v output for the speed control. I have several questions.
1) Will Mach3 monitor the RPM and compensate for load on the motor if I supply a tachometer/index input?
2) I've included the Reliance DC2 manual in this post. I've read it many times and I'm just not confident that I know how to wire it to the breakout board. The DC2 manual seems to suggest that it can be controlled. Does anyone have experience with these controllers? They are used in many industrial applications such as conveyor belt drives...
I've attached a link to the Reliance/Rockwell DC2 manual below.

OK I found it, are you using it in torque mode?

Huh, try this:

Hello, I think I've got it in just speed mode. Should I try torque mode?
Thanks

Hello, the controllers that I have are a "DC2-71U" and a "DC2-90U." Doesn't look like either unit is capable of torque control.
thanks
