    Default complex casting

Hi, we have a job coming in that is quite a complex casting involving some simple facing of flanges plus drilling and tapping which we are fine with. However the job involves some pocketing at different depths. Some of the pocket features are identical but at different z heights. Do we have to program these individually with absolute z depths or can they be duplicated with an offset and a relative z depth rather than an absolute z depth?
    Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave, if you use the 2.5D pocketing strategy you can duplicate an operation and then just change the Z depths to suit the new depth. If you have a model of the part you can use the 3D roughing strategy to machine all the pockets in one go. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
