It is better to change all drivers to new and modern drives, if not it could not compatible and causing many troubles.
I had an idea and I'm not even sure if it's possible, but can you take an older servo (early 90s Kollmorgen Goldline Brushless PM servo) and use a new and modern drive, something like a Sureservo2 drive? If I make sure the drive is rated for the motor and I use the correct encoder on the servo, can I get by with it and use the auto tuning feature?
I'm doing a controller retrofit and while my servos and drives are functional, I'd prefer to have at least a modern drive. Since my servos are good, I'd love to use them if possible but I don't know if that's even a doable thing. Hopefully you guys have some insight on it.
Thanks!
