Default aasd-15a AC Servo Drive Tacho output ?

    Hi Guys,

Neewbie here just finished putting together a cnc mini lathe. Spindle is run by a aasd-15a ac servo drive and motor, all is controlled by a smoothstepper motion board. Is there anyway to run a tacho out of this drive to the smoothstepper board to give real time rpm of the spindle in mach3 ? And if so how ? i,e which pin to connect to, and what settings to enter into the drive and mach3 ?

    Cheers

Could you provide the pinout you have for the AASD drive to connect to the ESS please and any parameter setting that would help. I'm just starting a new build with these components.

    Hi,
that servo drive looks like an el-cheapo Chinese AC servo drive....given thats the case then it will follow the industry standard and have encoder outputs, including
an index channel, ie one pulse per rev. Thats whats required for Mach3.

    Which is likely to be:
    Encoder channels
    PA +/-
    PB +/-
    PZ +/-
    Index channel
    OZ / GND
