JMC iHSV57-30-18-36-21-38 servo for Z axis without brake does it work?

Hi All
Has anyone here any experience of using a JMC iHSV57-30-18-36-21-38 servo motor in a Z axis (with a 2.2kw standard chinese spindle motor) without a brake on the servo. Does the axis drop the motor when powered down (using a ball screw)?

Hi, I am just redesigning my Z axis and want to go with these on all axes. Already got one on X axis for testing and it's very nice. I'll go with 2:1 gear reduction for Z. Have you had any success with it in your case?
