Pretty Sure I'm running into a similar issue.. Any chance you found the solution??
Needing a bit of help with some Kollmorgen S200 Servo Amplifiers.
I have 4 which are connected to AKM31E-ACDNC-00 and 2 connected to AKM42J-CCDNC-00. These are connected to a PMDI MC4000 motion card.
This setup has been running fine for the last 12 years on this particular machine and lots of other machines.
Now here is the problem...........
When i power the machine up and reset the e-stop all amplifiers are enabled fine. After a while 1 amplifier, not always the same one will fault giving 9 flashes which is Motor l-l or l-n Short, Line-to-Line, Line-to-Neutral or Line-to-PE short on the motor output causing an instantaneous over current. Then another will fault and then another.
I have pretty much replaced everything but still getting the fault. Before i go out and buy 6 new amplifiers, has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this issue.
Thanks in advance.

I am also having the same problem . Did you ever determine the issue ?
I am having a similar issue with my Kollmorgen S200 series drives. 9 flashed repeating... I've noticed that most of the time I can power cycle the drives and they start working again. I've also noted that this fault happens more on startup. Also have one drive that works better now that I installed a PC fan onto it.
I've checked the cables, motors, & control boards and have found no faults.
I'm running them in a Calypso water jet, Mark II D
First time commenter ... Good morning everyone ... happy to see this is not a 15 year old post! Just now experiencing these 9 blinking lights on a 2006 5x10 Calypso Waterjet with a KMT S30 pump. Was intermittent for months and months ... when it wouldn't home all 3 (z,x,y) it would either just stall (sometimes on different axis), and other times wouldn't even acknowledge the releasing of the e-stop. I would just e-stop it, shut the control console down, and restart. Most times it would work the very next time. Once I was able to home the machine, it was good to go all day, if I didn't hit e-stop within the first hour or so. If I hit e-stop there was a chance that it would stall out and I'd have to repeat the process. Called my friends at Calypso and they told me to look for which were blinking 9 times ... lucky me ... 3 of 4 were blinking ... was told I need 3 new drives to replace the "dead" ones ... at the price of $2,995.00 EACH! Was told one can go bad and wipe others out. Rather than spend $9k here I am faced with the tough decision of maybe upgrading the waterjet altogether, but I have to say, couldn't be happier with this machine!! Jobs are piling up ... did anyone figure out a solution? PLEASE PLEASE HELP! Will report back with whatever I discover.
I did find this regarding the 9 blinking lights (on the Kollmorgen site) ...
