Did I ruin my encoder?

Hi!
In my Ikegai TV4 with Fanuc 0M -A the servo control board larmed for high current a couple weeks ago.
Desperate to narrow down what the problem could be I made a misstake one day.
I was shifting X and Y cables on the servoamplifier back and forward but one time i forget to switch the cables from the encoders and the motors strugled and finally larmed and relyas cut off.
I didnt think much at it then and I realized a few days later that there where something wrong with the Y-axis control on the board. A electrician fixed my board and now its back i the machine.
But now I have a diffrent problem, the X-axis is shaking/vibrating when I try to go above 1000mm/min.
I get the worst vibration when I command rapid travers and turn down the feed percentage bellow 50%, the whole machine is shaking.
What do you think? Did my misstake with the encoder cause this problem?
Any idea what i should do to fix my X-axis?

I doubt that you damaged the encoder by not switching the connections correctly on the axes. It's more likely that when the motors "struggled", the encoder coupling may have been damaged. The initial overcurrent alarm may also have been caused by this condition, and because you probably didn't run at rapid speeds during the tests, you didn't notice the vibration until you got the Y axis fully operational.

You still have the original problem. either a drive or motor issue.

Without the correct encoder feedback the drive could not control the motor (commutation loss) the encoder coupling on early redcaps could drive a helicopter rotor, its not damaged. You could always test the encoder timing if you want.
