Exclamation UC300ETH and Yaskawa Servos wiring - Servo on issue

    Hi,

So i´ve started a Cnc build! Yes!

The footprint is about 3200x2000mm, with a cutting surface of 2700x1500mm an estimated z height of around 400mm.

I´ve started to make purchases of the electronics and finally went with a UC300ETH, Yaskawa servos and analog drives.

While the mechanical side of the cnc is taking shape i´ve started to wire up the electronics but i´ve come to a quick halt... which i hope some CNCZONE member could help with.

With Sigmawin+ software i can make the servo to turn by jog, but i can´t make the UC300ETH board to do it. The issue is that i cannot get the servo to "turn on" (which also locks the shaft). In the SigmaWin+ software i get a SVON error message. There is a parameter which could set the servo to "always on" but i cannot make that work either, it simply wont turn on.

This is the parts i´ve got and how i connected the pins:
    SGD7S-5R5A00A002
    SGM7J-08A7C6S.
    UC300ETH
    BOB for CN1 cable

From CN1 connector on the servodrive i´ve connected:
    Ground to ports 1,2,6,10.
Puls: 7,8 to UC300ETH board XS+ and XS-
Sign: 11,12 to UC300ETH board XD+ and XD-
    +24: 47 to 24V on power supply
    S-ON: 0V

I´m thankful for all the help i can get!

I´ve attached a picture to show what the final result hopefully will look like.

What breakout board are you using, and which port on the UC300ETH?

I´m using the UC300ETH together with the UB1. I´m using the XS+, XS- XD+, XD-, GND, 24V and 0V pins on the UB1.

Are you sure those drives even accept step and direction??
Looking at page 129 of this manual, it looks nothi8ng like how you have it connected.

    Sorry, wrong manual.

Looks like you need a switch between 40 & 47 for Servo On??

My gut wants me to believe that the fault is in the parameters in the servo drive or the programming in the UC300ETH. Even if i turn the paramenter in the servo driver for pin 40 to always on it still doesn´t start.

A switch between 40 & 47 wouldn´t change much more than to control when to turn off?

So i´ve made a short victory, i´ve finally got the servo to turn on (and lock the shaft). The problem was the SEN signal together with P-OT and N-OT settings.

Now whats left is to get my step and direction signals to make the servo turn. Any advise? What are some common mistakes people make when it wont turn?

No output single and Parameter setting for the Servo Drive, the first check would be the Step/Dir is being output from your Breakout board and the servo drive is wired / connected to the correct terminals

So i think i have wired step/dir correctly. However it seems that i need to wire the CLR signal also. Any idea on how this should be wired?

Quote from the manual "The CLR (Position Deviation Clear) signal is used to clear the deviation counter in the SERVO- PACK. As long as the CLR signal is ON, the deviation counter will be 0, so a position loop will not be formed."
