Default Yaskawa Sigma 7 Drive issues

    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has seen any of these issues before, could suggest any fixes or understands potential causes of the problems with some Yaskawa servo drives

The sigma 7 drives (SGD7S-5R5A00A002) were purchased off ebay for a new machine which were listed as new

Having played around with 1 drive first sorting/testing cabling I put the remaining 3 under the machine into its control box area and powered on to transfer settings via Sigmawin+
While 2 are happy to jog around the others seem faulty.

Drive #1) Powers on, no faults shown. In the jog window of sigmawin+ when jogging is enabled any connected motor will make a slight shudder, rotate a slight bit and not respond to jogging. With other motor drivers when jogging is enabled there is no shudder or movement. Resetting via Sigmawin+ does not seem to have any effect neither does using the power connector from another drive

Drive #2) Does not power on. Display at the top displays/flashes a "-" character like all the others do while turning on but does not fully 'boot', no fan runs like the other drives and the flashing is erratic. The charge light for the DC bus on this drive also takes many minutes to slowly turn off, unlike the other drives which are practically instant

These are some very nice drives, hopefully they are still okay!

The only thing I would say is send them in to Yaskawa to see what is wrong with them, Sigma7 is not very old, I have not used one or done any repairs on them, were they cheap or did you pay full price for them, have you made contact with the seller, where they packaged in the Yaskawa boxes, he may have wired them up incorrect and damaged them

If they where out of China they could be copies so you would never know what you are going to get if they are a copy
