By the way, the ABB drive and the servo has very similar resolver values but I really have no idea if they are still the same or totally different things.

Looking at the images on my previous post, I really have no idea which pin goes where. I'd like to get some assistance on this.

These Are 100% incompatible. One is a resolver other is a digital enc.

    Ouch that hurt. But thanks.

The drive also support incremental encoder feedback. So does this sound doable: remove the encoder from the servo (and the brake because I don't need it) and install an incremental encoder to the servo.

Sure but... the new encoder must also have COMMUTATION tracks (3 of them) and they must match up to your motor's number of poles. Gets complicated pretty fast. do you know how many poles your motor is so you can buy the correct encoder?

Also If fitting a encoder with commutation tracks, you need a double beam 'scope to align it, if it is not keyed somehow.
To find the number of poles, short the three stator wires and rotate one revolution by hand and count the 'bumps'.

To the manual pole number is 5.

I did a quick search to find an encoder but couldn't find one.

Will a line driver output incremental encoder work? Because I already have one and it would be nice if I could use it. This one: E50S8-1024-6-L-5

Motor (magnet) poles have to be an even number. Is it 5 pole pairs?

google "encoder with commutation" gets me like 100 sources...

What confuses me is, as the motor has 10 poles, do I need an encoder with 10 channels or 12 (10 for poles and A+B). I'm asking because I can't find an encoder with 10 channels. They are mostly 9 or 12 (as far as I see).

The encoder has the normal A & B quadrature track and also the commutation tracks according to the pole count, Renco encoders used to be a really good cheaper source, but have since been taken over by Heidenhain so the prices are a little higher.
You need to order the encoder resolution you need and the pole count pairs.
The PDF shows the generated AC from the stator relative to the commutation.
(What you would see on the 'scope).
