Help with electronic gearing
Hello. I'm in process of getting my machine put together and now working with my ac servo drives.
I think I understand the theory behind electronic gearing but looking for a little advice I guess.
My encoders are quadrature 2500 count so 10000 count per rev. I'm running 5mm ball screw with a 2:1 belt reduction system. Now if I leave this setting to default 1:1 at 500 khz this thing will be dog slow.
Is there a good calculation to use where I can figure out this setting as well as able to tell mach what my pulse per unit is?

Re: Help with electronic gearing
Nobody? I'm wanting to run this setup at about .01mm per pulse as my goal. I need to be able to cut the pulses into about half so that if I send say 10000 pulses to the drive, the encoder will stop after 20000 quadrature counts

What Servo Drives are you using, most Drive manuals will tell you how to set the Electronic Gearing
