I'm new to this, but one of the first thing I realised when I bought my machine off ebay was its ability to do me serious harm in open space.

So I decided to build a protective enclosure. I looked at all kind of complicated designs drew up a plan and went to get materials. I stopped off in a cheap shop for cheap pot noodles and saw this huge 110 litre plastic box. Given the 3020 is a lot smaller than it looks in the eBay photos I bought the box for £9.99 and took it home and built a working, noise reducing, particle catching (I hope when I stop fitting the limit switches and get on and use it). I made two videos for my fixed1t youtube and here is the link to the first video.

The video has a link to my new cnc video playlist including the second part, sorting out the LPT port and fitting the X-Axis limit switch.

I hope safety zone is the right place for a cheap safety enclosure, sorry if it isn't.
