MDF board protect table surface (2)
Q. What is the thickness of the MDF board to be used under the working panel?
A. Thickness of the MDF board to be used under the working panel is 8mm-12mm will be ok
Q. Another silly question: If we cut one panel into small pieces (nesting), the underneath MDF board will have small grooves because of the router. Do we have to sand the surface again if we want to router another panel with different sizes? I’m asking this question because I think the vacuum will be leaking from the grooves in the MDF board.
A. Yes, you do. If you cut one panel into small pieces, the MDF board will have small grooves or slots because process different panels, you have to milling the whole surface of MDF. If the leakage is serious, the suction capacity becomes weak. But it is not necessary to milling every time before processing.
