I just got a red sail clone and your information actually gave a great explanation of issues that I have read others have with the wiring and the exhaust pulling high amps. The melting of the plugs and the power cable. Since I have lived in Europe for a while I remember having to use the transformers and you information now makes total sense of why those things happened with these machines. I was about to re-wire due to thinking the wiring was just that bad but now I am wondering if I did what you did and used transformers instead would that allow me to skip the rewiring. I know these comments are years ago and not sure I will get a response but wanted to say think you. And if you do get this and reply. I notice that now the power comes with a 110/220 switch not sure if that is acting as a transformer or if the machines during this time had the same thing.
