    Default No height adjustment....

    Hey Guys,

I am new to CNC laser, but am interested and plan on buying a machine,

Looking at redsail for obvious reasons, mainly they are cheap and I am very handy with machines....

I am looking at various models.

Some have no height adjustment on the table...

My question is how do you focus the laser for each different substrate?

Is it essential to have a table that raises and lowers?

Looking forward to learning and sharing experiences on this forum.

    Cheers,

Typically you would use a table that lowers because you know you are going to engrave objects that are high. Cutting is not normally a concern when engraving objects 'tall' or 'wide' objects.

You don't need an adjusting table if you intend to cut or engrave flat substrates, each machine is supplied with a focusing plate, which is just a rectangular piece of acrylic that the laser head (which can be moved up and down) to drop onto the plate after placing on top if the material. This gives the correct height adjustment for focus.
