Migrating Mimaki Pro Series CG-61 vinyl cutter to a modern Mac
We are migrating a Mimaki Pro Series CG-61 vinyl cutter from a legacy Mac OS system to a modern iMac 24 inch M1 2021, Mac OS 12.2.1 Monterey system. We have Mimaki Fine Cut/Coat 9 v2.2 installed currently in Trial mode. We have acquired a USB A to DB25 serial adaptor to connect the Mimaki Pro Series CG-61 vinyl cutter. We can see the adaptor is recognised by the Mac OS on the serial bus identified as ‘USB-Serial Controller D’ and we configured the 'Plotter / User Setup' to match the Mimaki Pro Series CG-61 vinyl cutter setting:
• Bits per second : 9600
• Data bits: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow Control: Hardware
With the plotter connected, powered-on, in Remote mode and doing a ‘Connection test…' we receive the error “ No response from the plotter. Check whether the plotter is in remote mode and the correct communication.
Does anyone have advise for the correct hardware or software configuration to have the Mimaki Pro Series CG-61 vinyl cutter function with Mimaki Fine Cut/Coat 9 v2.2. or any other software solution for modern Mac OS eg: InkScape, InkCut..?

I feel there maybe some answers in this post 'MacOS Big Sur & RS-232 Serial Communications' https://tips.graphica.com.au/macos-big-sur-rs232/ albeit I am struggling to decipher it to get a solution.
