So, are you using the original PlasmaCam motors, or did you replace them with STEPPER motors to run with your software?

[COLOR=var(--always-white)][COLOR=var(--primary-text)]Hello everyone over the last year or so we have been retrofitting our plasmacam 4x4 table from proprietary hardware to ess and tmc running mach 4 we were able to get the table to run a gcode and to come down and touch off the plate and it will go up to the set pierce height but the problem we are running into is that the torch will dive into the plate after a short time and we are confused as to why. If anyone here could help us out it would be very much appreciated we are new into all the DIY cnc setups.
the software we are using is mach 4 for the table control and sheetcam for the gcode and post process

Joe.
I’m fairly certain they are using something besides the plasmacam servos.
plasmacam used proprietary motors and go to great lengths to obscure the specs so that you have to buy parts from them.

they're ordinary servos so you can run them with an ordinary servo drive

Where were you 2 years ago when I was looking for a way to drive the servos on my plasmacam trash heap?
I couldn’t find anyone that had successfully reused their motors so I pulled them off and fit steppers onto it trying to make a router out of it.
It’s a passable router with some significant changes Y and Z are now on linear slides but the Y axis is still on the not so great bearings on painted tube.
Since then I have built 3 other machines and have used what I learned on the plasmacam trash heap rebuild to make all 3 much better machines.
I kept the servos, maybe I should convert that table back to plasma and sell it.
Thanks for the link.

Where are you located, and what PlasmaCam parts do you want to sell? I am always open to picking up more parts for PlasmaCam tables.
A controller box?
A gantry tube assembly?
A carriage assembly?
