Default Connect blue laser to MK3 / 9

I would like to place a small 2.5 W blue laser with PWM input on the spindle from my CNC to "engrave" my logo on my wooden products. It is not very clear to me how to connect and command it; to control the spindle I obviously connected the OutBoard to the MK3 / 9 from where I take the 0/10 volts to be sent to the inverter ... the laser instead how do I connect it? to command it I imagine that the M3 S command is always used. modifying the postprocessor to switch off the laser during inactive movements. I know someone has already implemented this configuration ... can you give me some info?
    Thank you all
    Marco

Controller has 3 PWM outputs which can be used for lasers. In your case one is already used by VFD. You can command PWM outputs with M63 g-code. I suggest you create custom M code scripts utilizing M63.
You can treat laser as special tool. This way you can set its X and Y offset in tool table. There is also an option to skip tool measure and tool change for this "laser tool". M3 and M5 scripts can be modified so that they use your custom M code if "laser tool" is selected.
With this configuration existing posts should work fine without changes.

    Great.
A few more questions: therefore, since pin 6 is used to generate the 0/10 volts for the VFD (as per the manual) I can use the pwm on pins 1 or 2 indifferently using M63 1 (or 2) QE (which interval of values should I use for Q?). Can the Output Board remain connected using the laser? Do I have to enter specific values in the Spindle \ Frequency and PWM settings menu?
where is it better to take the pwm signal? by flat cable or other?
Then when I see that everything works I will apply to create the script.
    Thanks for your help

Yes, keep OB connected. You need it for VFD. Pins 1 and 2 are not used by OB and you can use it for laser.
Don't change spindle settings. M63 does not use them.
Frequency depends on your laser. Consult datasheet. I use 10000Hz on mine.
    Keep shortest possible cable.

    Hi,
I connected the laser and it works perfectly but I can't create the script to modify the M3 S and M5 commands in the presence of my instrument n. 100 "Laser". It would be of great help if I could insert a small example in the next update, a base from which to start to create my own custom script.
    Thanks in advance
