    Default position feedback

Any plans for a new controller with true closed loop operation or position and velocity control instead of step and direction?

Servo drivers already implement good PID control for motors. There in no need to do this again in controller. PlanetCNC controller is motion controller and not servo driver.

Old machines with old servo motors used drivers with analog 10V for control. These legacy drivers did not have option to use step/dir control and closed loop implementation had sense. Nowdays all servo systems for position control use step/dir and having closed loop on controller is obsolete.

I think he means using linear encoders.
And yes, if the controller could do that, I would use it well.

yes, any plans for linear encoders. i see that a few of the competitors products have this. for example Centroid CNC.
