    Default MK 3/9 Board broken.

As of today, an engine only runs in one direction.
I checked all lines and the engine. There is no fault to be found.
That's why I chose a different axle port on the MK3 / 9 board. Now the motor runs in both directions.
I've had the board for a while, but it's only been in use for a few hours.
How can such a board be broken after just a few hours of operation?

This is not good to hear.
Most common cause is grounding related.

"The most common cause is grounding"
Can you explain that in more detail? Do I have to ground the board? If so, how do I do this?

    One example:
You have metal machine which is not grounded. Electrostatic charge builds up and needs to discharge. Because machine is not properly grounded it power spike goes through drivers to controller nad then through USB to computer. Computers usually are grounded by design.

My machine is grounded. PE is clamped on each axis.
The board is connected via LAN.
    Should I do anything else.

I just gave an example.Which motor drivers do you have?

Having long signal wires is a bad thing. And integrated drivers are just this. Instead of having optocouplers near controller they are near motor. And there is a long signal wire running next to power wires through machine. In such situations signal wires act like antennas. Power wires current creates voltage through induction. These voltage can be very high.

Shielded cables (signal and power) with correctly connected shields are a must. But it is probably best to use optocouplers on step and dir signals.

More common issue of this type is with limit/input pins. Switch is mounted on machine and then there is long signal wire connected directly to controller. Recipe to burn input. With optocoupler you also increase signal voltage which greatly reduces noise.

This also explains your problems with error signal and spindle. Luckily error pin survived those spikes and just triggered incorrectly. Your direction pin did not survive.

    can use this one: https://planet-cnc.com/product/adapt...h-optocoupler/
    for step/dir?
or are there problems like error pins?
    As I said, I have 4 axes.

These are designed to work with step/dir.

I tried to connect a motor according to the following instructions.
    It didn't work.

I am very frustrated now and am annoyed that I chose this board.

You should be annoyed for your integrated drivers. Good marketing, bad design.

Anyway you did not answer my question about connection. Proper connection is more than pin matching. Please be more descriptive.

Well, it used to work with another controller. So I could also think about their products. But I don't want to argue, I just want it to work.

I only found two questions about which motors and whether the machine is grounded. I answered a lot. What question do you mean?
Each axis is grounded with a single cable via the central PE point in the control box.
The signal cables are shielded. The shield is clamped to the control box. The spindle cable is shielded, too

How did you connect optoadapter to motor driver? You wrote that it does not work.

But this document only describes pins of opto adapter. It does not say anything about how to connect it to drivers.

I need to know which pins are connected together, how is shield conneted, how it is powered,...

I can set something on the DIP switch. SW 5 is used for setting the active edge of the input signal, "off" -means the active edge is the rising edge, while "on" is the falling edge.

    He is currently on "on".

I think the essential can be seen in this drawing.
All components except the motor and driver are in a metal cabinet.
    This is connected to PE.
The shield is connected to the cabinet directly where the cable leads into the cabinet with EMC connectors.
