Default Huanyang 2.2 spindle VFD control

Hi - I need some help if anyone could advise please.

I can control my spindle from the VFD perfectly with the VFD controls.

I have now connected my Mk3/4 + output board to the VFD as the blog describes and I cannot get it to function.
    I have set the VFD to :- PD001=1, PD002=1 and PD070=0.
I have set the software output pins to 1 for on/off, 6 for speed and 2 for mist.

Have checked 12V supply to output board and the 0/10V pot returns 1V across the terminals.

The IO screen display illuminates correctly on both MDI and top button input

Two things I do not know. 1/ There is a jumper (J1) on the VFD to the right of the terminal blocks. My jumper setting is to the left (V1) is this OK?
2/ Do I need to adjust the 0-10v pot?

Could there be any other software settings I need to attend to?

    Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Both of my old Haunyang had the J1 jumper set to V1 and the PD001, PD002 and PD070 parameters set like yours.
    in in TNG I set
    Pin On / Off = 3
Pin direction = Not set (not use M4)
    Pin speed = 6
    Pin fog = 4

I hope to be proved helpful.

    mar-cone thanks for info.
    Tried this but no change.
Have noticed however that the spindle rotates immediately when switching it on and I then stop it with the VFD control.
Could that be indicative of anything incorrect?

I state that my output board is connected to a mk3-9 with flat cable although this should not change anything if you followed the layout of the PlanetCNC blog ... if you do not use the direction reversal but only the hourly one tries to connect only the Forward pins and the DCM to relay 3 or to the relay / output you set in TNG (I used 3) on the NO contacts then the 0 / 10V of the output board to the Vi and ACM pins of the VFD respecting the polarities.

obviously the adjustment potentiometer set it in mid-stroke .... then you will fine-tune it when everything works

Are you trying to control the VFD with the Pot or are you trying to control the speed with your control software

What are all the VFD Parameter settings you have set

mactec - I am wanting to control the speed with the TNG v1 software.
The VFD settings are "factory" Plus I have set the VFD to :- PD001=1, PD002=1 and PD070=0.
The 0/10V pot on the output board I have not yet moved and it meters out at 1V currently.
My 12v supply to the output board is currently a bit high. 13V, I will trim back to 12V tomorrow

To control the speed via the (vi) input, the pin jumper on the side must be set to (vi).
So not as seen in the photo.

    tantemay - thanks for advice.
I am not set as your thumbnail suggests. I had considered that setting to V1 I would have put the jumper to the left. Not the right as you show.
Is your thumbnail how it should be?

    Hi.
No, the picture shows the setting for the built-in potentiometer. To control it via the OutputBoard from Planet CNC via 0-10v signal, it must be set to (vi). Not as in the picture

Yes the jumper should be on VI for 0-10v control or Pin (1 -2 )

Set 0/10v pot to center position. Still no movement.
Is there any indication in the fact that the spindle revolves (to rpm set on the vfd) when the VFD and spindle are powered on. Have to switch it off with VFD?

Silly questions .... VFD and spindle are new? Before connecting it to the controller, did the spindle work properly with VFD commands? Have all the PDnnn parameters of the VFD been correctly set for the nameplate characteristics of the connected spindle?
The connections are quite simple, it seems strange that it doesn't work
PS: On the VFD it also controls the PD that prevents the settings from being modified (usually PD000)

    mar_cone - First thanks for sticking with me. - Yes PD000 = 0

It is also curious that spindle does not start if I just switch on the VFD. It only starts when the control is switched on. So there is a signal getting through from somewhere.

Perhaps it is the connection between controller and output-board that is not correct ... if the controller is off the relay of the output board is de-energized and the spindle does not start while if you turn on the controller the relay energizes and the spindle turns? is that so?

Are the spindle settings correct in TNG?
If the TNG gives the M3 command one of the relays is energized?

Make a small outline of how you connected the VFD to the output board

mar_cone - Have checked everything including retracing the complete wiring setup. Had an unstable 12v power supply so I replaced that and now spot on constant 12V delivery.
Have asked PCNC support if there are points to meter in order to check the output card is working OK.

Really am baffled by this! I have built or restored 4 CNC machines to date and I though I was getting the hang of it ?

Post a photo of your wiring

First check the outputs of the Breakout Board with your meter

Points to check with your meter 0-10v output from the Breakout board first do a M3S12000 in MDI if you get a reading of around 5v output at the Breakout Board, then the output to the VFD Drive is working for the RPM Control

For the ON/OFF are you using a relay to do this need to see some photos of the wiring

When you said the J1 jumper is in the center, it should be connected to the 2 pins that are closest to the main Terminal Block like snip

The VFD keyboard will not work when in remote control only the Stop Button will be active
