    Default MK3/4 to PoStep60

I am a complete Newbie - have built a CNC from scrapped parts...total Frankenstein.

2 questions on Stepper Motor control.

1 - when the machine is at rest, at odd times, the motors sound as if they are moving - without movement. Is the controller having issues sending a consistent "hold" voltage?

2 - I have already slowed my inches/minute considerably so as to not get the shudder in the stepper with loss of position. Is this a throughput Hz issue? I am only managing 25 ipm with 20400 steps per unit. It may be that my gearing too far to the power side and is not allowing a high ipm???

    Thanks for your help!!

    1. this is caused by drivers, it is not harmful.
    2. do yo have a gearing ratio on all of your axes?
