Default Is there alternative to Corian

I have been using random scraps of 6mm Corian for Lithophanes because I can't find an alternative supplier.

Is there another material i can use for Lithophane ?

Any small quantity supplier in UK ?

    Thanks

Use cast acrylic. It comes in opaque and transparent colors. Avoid extruded like the plague for this use. It works great. Here's one I did in transparent blue acrylic.

Thank you very much for your reply, I will get some.
Nice lithophane ! What acrylic thickness did you use ?
I still make mistakes with selecting the correct tools for roughing and finishing :=(

I use 1/8" or 3mm acrylic. If done right you could probably use 1/16". As for tools I prefer ballnose cutters in 1/16" and 1/32". I have been successful with engraving bits as well. In 1/8" material the total cut depth is less then .06 inches. I also rarely run a finish roughing pass for these types of things. The horse was done in one pass. Try to get paper masked acrylic. You can leave the masking on till after its cut so it doesn't get scratched up.

You might want to contact any local solid surface countertop fabricators in your area, and ask if you can buy their sink cutouts and or scraps.

Thanks Ben that's very useful. I sourced some cast acrylic on eBay over the weekend to try. I will look for a local supplier as well.
I am impressed with your one pass result, that must save a lot of time .....another great tip for me to try. Hopefully ....watch this space for my effort !
