Default Need Help V carving Chinese Characters

    VcarvePro (VCP) 8.5 Mach3 V2

I frequently am called on to make Chinese plaques and such because my wife is Chinese and i'm a CNC hobbyist, all are made at no charge.

The Chinese secretary will type and print the text out pretty large so it doesn't get ragged along the edges if I have to enlarge it in VCP.

I scan the text in at a high resolution and save the file as a JPG, then import it into VCP "IMPORT BITMAP FOR TRACING" then click on "TRACE BITMAT-FIT VECTORS TO BITMAP". I then click on the center and delete it leaving the outlines. I notice that if I show NODES there are a lot, sometimes i will use the "CURVE FIT VECTORS" it reduces the number of nodes. But not sure if that speeds up the process or not.

The VCP text utility has many styles of fonts, do you know if VCP would import Chinese Characters then Chinese could be typed directly into VCP and I am think it would result in better quality vectors and might have fewer nodes than imported JPG text.

Can you offer any suggestions to improve V carving Chinese characters, I really would appreciate it.

    Thanks

V Carve Pro uses whatever fonts are installed in Windows.
If you can install a Chinese font in Windows, then you can use that in V Carve Pro.
