Default Okuma Multus U3000 Tool Life

    Hi,

I have successfully implemented tool life on the A turret using TDG=# commands and TG=# MT=01 pre call commands with TLID at the bottom of each side of the program.

I can’t figure out what the tool call should be for the B turret though. The standard call would be TD=01010010 or TD=02070010 for example. I have tried TDG=01010010, TG=0010 OG=01, TG=0010 OG=0101, TG=10 OG= etc. but I’ve had no luck with any of them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try TDG=02010010 (if the second digit denotes the turret number).

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think that will work. I will try it when I get to work later though.

For a bit more information, the machine is twin turret, twin spindle. In the standard command, the first 2 digits are for the edge number, the second 2 for the orientation and the last 4 are the tool number which we can choose anything between 0001-9999.

For example, TD=01010003 would call up a DNMG (in our case) facing the main spindle. TD=02070003 would call up a DNMG facing the sub spindle. We have a twin tool holder in this pocket.

In the command we don’t actually call up the turret number, just the tool number. We have to tell the machine where they are mounted in the tool data page. I could move the DNMG from pocket 3 to pocket 9 and the tool call would remain the same.
