    Default Okuma OSP100 & alarm 811

    Hi!

    Macturn350 OSP100
    We have alarm:
811 Alarm-P FCP IO link communication error 106088801

Sometime alarm will be away for days, sometimes many alarms/ hour. Alarm appears during automatic drive or even when machine is on idle, so its not connected to any movement i think.
Is there anything what i can check and where ?

    Thanks,

    GB

Those alarms usually are pointing to a communication error between devices. The code at the end of the alarm should reveal more in your alarm book. Sometimes the connections just need to be "re-seated" and they will start working again. (power off of course) Sometimes it's more serious and the board is going bad and is not communicating properly to the system. In that case, you will need to replace the defective device.

Based on my past experiences, it's more likely a connection than anything. 7000 controls had the dreaded orange fiber optic cables that would break easily if even lightly abused. They should be gone on the P100 control in favor of the field net IO, so you should be able to just unplug the cable and plug it back in to re-seat it. Be sure to do one at a time so as not to mix them up. The code may give you some ideas on where to start looking.

    Best regards,

Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

It is U100 control. Sometimes optical cables misconnect.
