    i am a newbie to anything OKUMA
    okuma osp700L I keep getting a ( 1229 ALARM-A Spindle max revolution designation ) when trying to thread.

    here is my program

    I think you need a G50 max speed

    i would try putting decimal points in the d/u/h
    not sure if the control needs them but my manual for a osp5020l uses them-- your control maybe like a fanuc that can do it with out the decimal points

    the G97s200m3 should lock up the rpm's to 200 while threading

    try single block to see just where the machine alarm's out do you get by the g97 line and alarm out on the g71 line ?

    You do need the decimals on the D/U/H characters of code.
    You also need a G50 command.
    The alarm itself is because you don't have a G50.

    Make it read:
    N1
    G50 S500
    G40 G95
    #
    #
    #

    You will be fine.
    If you don't put the decimal the thread cycle is going to act REALLY weird.
