Unhappy OSP-P300S - Macturn 550 "Machining" with open door?

    Hi all
We're trying to run a small demo with indexing, synchronized spindles etc with a small group of people, but the door limits the view.
The audience would need to make a line to glimpse it
So I've looked into M208/M209 in MDI but it wont accept any code after it.Maybe anyone got some tips?

I could try it in a B400 if it could help having manual doors instead of automatic ones

hi go up on the cnc, remove the covers & mess with the locks; so to allow the doors to be opened anytime ( during machining, or when power is off, etc )

obviosuly, be carefull, maybe someone, that does not know, will start the machine by mistake when the doors are opened, so put the locks back as soon as you consider, and talk with everyone that will work on the machine, and be sure that all is ok

do you need a photo ?

Manipulating the locks is doable. We could use a "fork" to make it think the doors are closed at all times, but I was hoping for an M/G code.

In the manual I found this:
"M208 Door interlock release OFF | Standard"
"M209 Door interlock release ON | Standard"

    Any experience with this?

Also thanks for the quick reply Kitten

I've used the M209 to allow the machine to start as the door closed to gain cycle efficiency. It only worked in auto mode and I did not experiment to see how far I could run with the door open. I believe single block had to be off as well. We were running with a gantry robot so spindles could start an turret could rapid as door closed.

    Hope this helps.

Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

    Thanks for the reply Wiz,
Do you have the program at hand? I tried to make a simple program doing this:
    G140
    /M90
    TD=215M323
    G20 HP=1
    G0 Z200
    M0
    M209
    M91
    G4 F3
    G0 Z150
    G4 F3
    G0 Z200
    G4 F3
    G20 HP=1
    M0
    T2000
    M0
    T1000
    M30

Still it stops at M209/M208 (Tried both)
This was in auto and single block, tried running it from the start without SB as well but stops at the same spot.

i am not sure, but i believe that M209, as an interlock, requires another code, so to ignore it's confirmation

maybe this is why your cnc stops, because you don't have automatic doors

if M209 works with normal doors, it means that the interlock no longer ignores the confirmation of a code, but a signal ( that is triggered by operating the panel buttons )

heeeei, i just have an idea : remap the plc, so to make it believe that the door is always locked you should create a mask; do you know how ? i have to talk with my dealer about this, but it should be possible

after that, you simply disable that mask / kindly
