We bought a milling machine. It is running in mm/rev. Is it possible to change to mm/min system in parameter.

    Thanks and best regards

Normally, a milling machine is set to G94 ( feed per minute ) on power up .... and you should have safety code lines at the beginning of EVERY program replicating the power on status
    ie
    Code:
G20 ( or G21...unit system check, machine in same units as the program)
G0 G10 G17 G22 G40 G80 G90 G94 (set rapid, cancel scale & rotation, XY plane, travel limits ON, cutter comp cancel, canned cycle cancel, absolute mode, feed per min)
    - you can at times use G95 ( feed per rev ) ie for tapping you set the F = pitch, (you can play with the RPM and not have to adjust the feed )
BUT... you must remember to switch back to G94 before any other feed move .... or it will seem as if you are stuck in rapid for everything

If it doesn't reset to G94 on power up, you need to supply the control model so ppl can assist .....
one manual suggests it may be in "NC Optional Parameter (Bit)" param #18, [which control the power on G codes]

default G94 comes from classical mills, where the spindle motor and feed motor were separated

on clasical lathes you may sync them using the gearbox, so G95

for an exact sugestion, just like how superman sugested, share your control & machine type

feed sugestions are specified like mm/cutting_edge, not mm/min, so thinking in G95 may help ... but if you are used to G94, than stick to it

    kindly
