I have used the software from DNC software : dead easy to use : RS232 transfer between CNC and PC
Have used this software for years from WinXP through to Win 10.
The software is easy to setup and use.
Also, the author, Ian Jenning's, from memory, is a very understanding person and fast to respond to inquiries.
The included help file also shows the required settings on machine and the cable setup.
