Oiler issues

The oil pump that came with the mill broke on the bottom lever casting a couple of years ago, and I had John send me a replacement. Different "brand" but same Chinesium construction. The replacement worked for a while but then started leaking from the bottom , so I would fill it every session with just enough to deliver oil. I finally got tired of that and ordered a replacement from Amazon. This dud doesn't even have check valves! I swapped the checks from the leaking one but nothing is getting pumped out. I asked for a refund today via Amazon website, but if I have to pay to ship it back I'll east the $30.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement pump and vendor?

In the interim I made swap the lever casting from pump 2 to pump 1 and see how that goes.

Several years back LeeWay purchased an automatic oilier for his Pulsar. It might be worth a try $116.00

I just installed one of these on my 1100M to oil the Z axis slide ways and ball nut. Granted it's a cheap import pump but it does work. If it breaks I'm out only $20.

I had problems with mine leaking, too. This is what I did. If it's still leaking, it's only a drop now and then, but I don't use the mill everyday. I have an automatic one to install, just haven't gotten to it.

If the oilier on my Pulsar is any more than half full it drips.

I agree. The cheap oilers you and I bought, and others, are of questionable quality. My backup plan when my $20 dollar oiler fails, and it will, is to replace it with a pre-owned Bijur manual oiler I bought on eBay a couple of years ago. Right now it's in service on my manual mill.

Problem solved for the instant. The original oiler failed when the plastic collar that attached the lever to the base cracked. The metal one from the leaking oiler was a screw in replacement, so I'm back in business.
