Hi Ed
Do you think i could get that dxf for the tele thinline?
Thank you
Joe
Hi and Welcome....PM or email me and I can send you the thinline dxf file. The conversion from the Fender pdf to a dxf is easy if you have the right software.
Again...welcome!
Cheers

PS...check out www.tdpri.com for all tele stuff!

Sorry this is a very noobish question but how do you take it from the dxf or from cad and make it into an actual object... (I dont have a cnc router yet but am looking into it) I understand it needs to be converted into G-code but how? I have a les paul file that I would like to make if I actually get a router but I dont know how I would be able to do it. I'm attaching the les paul file that I got from another forum thread on here and I view with the latest Rhino. Basically i just want to know how do i go about making that file into a living thrashing guitar.
preparing a patent for electric guitar using tele as cad template.
which software is easiest to modify, I have studied mechanical drawings in the olden days never on the computer. I have ZWCAD.
Here's a tele body made from Solid!

This is the "mystery" part of the biz. (Nah, not really)
That is what I used to get paid well for,
This requires knowledge of geometry, machining, tooling, software, on and on ......
Where do you want to start?

anyone got models of a thinline or any other tele that would work in pro engineer?
Hi ferg...I don't have any thinline drawings, but you could wander...HERE and convert the pdf into pro engineer, scale it using the neck screw distance on the back (1.5 X 2"), and have what you need. Hope this helps.
Cheers

thanks very much, just a quick question to possibly make me the laziest git ever, is there any software that could do that fo rme or will i need to exercise my drawing skills?
If you find that software notify us, please,
Management was trying for years to find that software rather than pay skilled engineers and CNC programmers for their knowledge.
That would be cool,
PDF in and solid model with CNC data out.
Start warming up your drafting / modeling skills.
That is a good clean pdf file.
Best of wishes.

I have SLDPRT, IGS, and STL versions of Tele Guitar Body, Neck, and Pickguard freely available on my website at: http://www.cockrum.net/lutherie.html
Also, I have some misc CNC and lutherie stuff at: http://www.cockrum.net/cnc.html

im a student and havent had a lot of experience in drawing things in cad, most of our things have had step by step instructions on how to draw parts hence the pdf to cad gaffe. Whats the neck screw distance? and should i just be putting the pdf to 100% scale and then measuring the bolts or whatever, then finding out their real size and using a scale factor from those dimensions to find out the "true" dimensions of all the other curves etc?
If you google "telecaster blueprint", the blueprint is the first image that shows up.

Hallo,
Can anybody send me a dwg drawing for telacaster body??
I would like to make telecaster body from aluminum.
But i don't have the dwg drawing with the measures.
Thanks,gemaga
Gemaga,
I have SLDPRT, IGS, and STL versions of Tele Guitar Body, Neck, and Pickguard freely available on my website at: http://www.cockrum.net/lutherie.html
The STL can be read by many 3D cad/cam packages including CamBam:
